Every golfer can benefit from coaching.  Ask Rory and Michael. The golfers here at Ardglass Golf Club are no different.

Our professional staff is involved across the board in providing coaching to individuals of all standards, from raw beginners to a Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup winner. Ardglass prides itself on coaching novices, particularly those involved in the ‘Ladies into Golf’ venture.

During the summer months our professionals are busy coaching our young girls and boys who make up the club’s enthusiastic junior and juvenile sections. Ardglass Golf Club recognises that the future of golf rests with the next generation of golfers and everyone is happy to see these young golfers make the club and the course their second home.

Over recent years the members at Ardglass have witnessed no fewer than 6 former amateur golfers become professionals with one, Cormac Sharvin, making it to the heights of the DP World Tour and another going on to be our current Director of Golf.

My first round in Ardglass was in 1973, and by 1981 I was the club's first ever assistant professional.

I’ve played several rounds here since writing ‘A Course Called Ireland’ back almost 20 years ago. These guys were the first to tell me of the impact my book had on their visitor numbers and were gracious enough to give me Honorary Membership, which I cherish dearly.
Ardglass is unpretentious, and while some clubs offer a quiet welcome, Ardglass will hardly let you leave.
It has gone from a favourite in my book to a spot that occupies a place in my life, all because I stopped there for 24 hours back in 2007.
